Thank you for being part of our journey!
In 1949 Marcos Larrañaga Chinchurreta founded the company "Manufacturas Metálicas Marcos Larrañaga" in small premises in the centre of Bergara.
We began manufacturing aluminium household items and orthodontic material for companies in the Alto Deba region of Gipuzkoa.
We moved and expanded our facilities to be able to manufacture aluminium kitchenware for the hotel and catering sector and, subsequently, we began to manufacture the first stainless steel pieces for the home. We also decided to create the brand name "Lacor" in honour of the married couple formed by the founder Marcos Larrañaga and his wife Casimira Cortabarría.
We improved the stainless steel parts by including the diffuser bottom, as well as extending the range for the professional sector. We start exporting our products to the neighbouring countries France and Portugal.
We became the first national manufacturer of large stainless steel tableware with a diffuser bottom and a single piece. As a result, we had to relocate and expand our current facilities in Bergara, as well as automate production.
We continued working to expand our professional catalogue and managed to expand our sales to the 5 continents.
We created the company "Logística del Menaje" in Alegría-Dulantzi (10,000 m2) with its subsequent expansion to 30,000 m2 to store and manage the hundreds of daily orders from our customers.
We also invested in automation and robotisation in production to optimise resources and improve the finishing of the pieces.
We have consolidated our position as a leading brand of professional kitchenware for the hotel and catering industry.
Our products are characterised by design, quality and durability, attributes that win over top chefs from all over the world on a daily basis.
We try to contribute to a healthy and sustainable society. We promote learning and the development of healthy lifestyle habits by incorporating safe and toxic-free materials into our catalogue.
We’re a leading brand in the hospitality and home kitchenware industries. After years of effort we’ve earned a leadership position and we’re at the forefront of the sector.
We’re present in 90 countries on 5 continents. Through the effort of our distributors we've been able to reach homes and professional kitchens around the world.
We have assimilated the culture of quality in both our manufacturing processes and products and our relationships with clients and collaborators.
We belong to a land with deep gastronomical roots where our artisans began to make the first casseroles more than 70 years ago. Today, we still have the same spirit and passion for our history.
We have a qualified team of people with a high degree of responsibility towards service. Thanks to our day in day out dedication, we’ve been able to build long lasting and trusting relationships with our clients.
Our commitment to sustainability
Our responsibility goes beyond offering high quality kitchenware: we seek to take care of people and the planet. That’s why our products are made from toxic-free materials, making them safe for your health and for the environment.
At the same time, we have taken a firm step towards reducing the use of plastic in our packaging, helping to minimise waste and protect our environment.
We are also committed to energy efficiency with our own solar panel installation, which allows us to move towards energy self-sufficiency and reduce our carbon footprint.
Every action counts and every product we create reflects our commitment: quality, responsible kitchenware designed for a more sustainable world.
In 2017, we became official kitchenware and cookware sponsors of the Basque Culinary Center, which is the first university of gastronomy in Spain and a leader worldwide. It was founded in Donostia - San Sebastián in 2011.
Our media presence gives us the opportunity to highlight the quality and excellence of our products in such a prestigious setting as television cooking shows. We’re delighted to see how our kitchenware is used and appreciated in the exhilarating challenges and delicious recipes shown on screen.
For years, Lacor has been collaborating with educational centers in the area, such as Mondragon Unibertsitatea and the Miguel Altuna Institute, to train young students in the professional field (DUAL training, final degree projects, etc.)
We’re committed to providing tangible and significant help to not-for-profit organisations so they can reach their goals and benefit those most in need.
We believe that every grain of sand counts. That is why we encourage others to join us in this effort. Together we can make significant change happen and contribute to building a brighter future for everyone.
